Ford Everest Crowned Thailand Car of the Year

BANGKOK, Thailand — The new Ford Everest recently crowned the 2015 Thailand Car of the Year by the Thai Automotive Journalists Association (TAJA), receiving the most votes from top automotive journalists of with 110. “On behalf of Ford Thailand, we are extremely honored and would like to thank the TAJA committees,” said Yukontorn ‘Vickie’ Wisadkosin, managing director, Ford Thailand. “Winning the 2015 Thailand Car of the Year award is truly proud achievement for us and encourages our Ford team to continue delivering word-class vehicles.” In its inaugural year, TAJA Car of the Year award aims to make the automotive industry in Thailand the global standard, as well as to provide information to aid the purchasing decision of the public. “The all-new Everest, launched in March 2015, represents our commitment to delivering vehicles that are fully equipped with a range of innovative features,” said Yukontorn. “This vehicle truly reflects its slogan of being ‘Engineered for the Extraordinary’ and its impressive driving capabilities are made possible by the powerful Ford engine technologies that deliver excellent performance.” The criteria for assessing vehicles include driving performance, comfort, design, safety, eco-friendliness and value for money. To qualify for consideration, vehicles must be local-assembled new models, launched within the preceding 12 months, with domestic sales of at least 500 units according to the number of registered vehicles provided by Department of Land Transport. “We believe this award is also a result of our world-class design and manufacturing,” added Yukontorn, “as well as our leadership in advanced technologies that make Ford vehicles some of the smartest in the market.”
